INTRODUCTION TO FLY
FISHING |
| The lesson will be in two sessions and will
commence with a brief description of basic equipment required to go
fly fishing for trout on Stillwater lakes and will include fly rods,
reels, fly lines, leaders, knots and different types of flies.
Safety to your self and others whilst fishing will also be
discussed. The second half off the lesson will involve tuition of casting on the water and will consist of placing the fly and line on the water to commence casting, the roll cast, the lift and back cast, the forward cast and extending line. You will also be shown the different ways of retrieving the fly after casting, how to play the fish when caught, how to kill a fish correctly or how to release it safely back to the water. At the conclusion of the lesson, you may wish to purchase a ticket and fish on to put your lesson to good use and catch your first trout. Good luck! |
